Last week, I reached over 1k subscribers, just after 1 year of sending my first newsletter via Substack!
It’s been great to see more engagement with my newsletters recently and I’m really grateful I can help more students.
In this email, I just want to say thank you for subscribing, reintroduce myself and learn how I can best help you in the future.
For those of you who might not know me, I’m a full-time tutor primarily teaching 11 Plus and GCSE English, and I mark GCSE English papers.
I started this newsletter not only to gain new students but to make education more equitable.
Without the help of many great online English teachers that I’ve learned from, I wouldn't be nearly as effective as I am now teaching English.
I’m sure there will be a lot of English teachers out there like myself who watched people such as Mr Salles to refamiliarize themselves with GCSE English.
I’m very grateful for all of the free resources and guidance I’ve found online and genuinely wanted to contribute to the wealth of free material out there.
When I first started tutoring for the 11 Plus, practice papers and study content seemed to be locked behind pay walls which is why I started sharing free 11 Pus papers.
But since my newsletter has grown, I’ve gained more GCSE students and I also wanted to provide more model solutions for them.
Now, I’m trying to cover all of the biggest exams, both at the 11 Plus and GCSE English, but I would like to know what you would like.
So I’d really appreciate it if you could vote in the poll below.
I still plan to cover all of the major 11 Plus and GCSE English papers, but will post more of the resources that you ask for.
As well as voting, you can also leave a comment with your specific requests on my Substack article.
Also, as I mentioned, I do hope to gain new students from this, so I can continue to tutor full time and keep up this newsletter.
So if you are looking for a tutor, I still have the capacity to take on one or two more students. Just send me an email letting me know how I can help.
Best wishes,
Morgan
Congratulations Morgan, I'm so happy for you that your base is growing! We are past the 11 stage so are interested in GCSE, I am intrigued as well whether there is anything in between those stages to share that would be useful - not necessarily exam related, but something to judge KS3 skills by and whether our kids are at the level they need to be at that stage too. Thanks for all you do - I'm saving all the posts for when I need them! :)
